The United States navy deployment history in Orinda, California began with the establishment of a U.S. Naval Station at Moffett Field on December 15, 1938. The station was later renamed Naval Air Station Orinda and served as an anchorage for American naval aviation during World War II. The squadron also participated in raids against Japanese shipping lanes off the coast of Japan during 1944-1945. In addition to its bombing capabilities, NAS Orinda also functioned as a training ground for American pilots when they left their fighter jets at home to serve on warships abroad during World War II. During the Korean War USS Randolph (CV-8) was deployed to Sasebo Marine Air Base first as part of Operation Planetyard then again after Daegu Harbor had been bombed by North Korea on July 26th 1950 which resulted in death or injuries to over 100 sailors and Marines aboard ship plus destruction or damage to several thousand homes within Sasebo City area which included most of the city's population center with no warning being given before mission started USS Randolph remained stationed at Sasebo until January 1951 when it sailed back home via Yokosuka Bay arriving San Francisco Bay on January 6th 1951

She served as flagship for Commander, Fleet Marine Force Europe (CVMF), responsible for maritime patrol, counterterrorism operations and amphibious assault support operations afloat in the eastern Mediterranean Sea region. USS John F Kennedy (CVN 77) arrived at Norfolk Naval Shipyard on October 2, 2003 after being delivered by truck from Long Beach, California. She had been acquired by the Navy from Lockheed Martin Corporation as part of the Department of Defense's Project Odyssey program. After being outfitted with advanced avionics systems and sea trials she joined CVMF on November 1st 2003 when she sailed into service with Task Unit 554th Battle Squadron located off Tripoli homeland Libya where she played an important role during Operation Unified Protector which sought to block terrorist attacks against U.S.-backed Libyan forces USS Enterprise (CVN 66) arrived at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on January 15, 2004 after delivery from Newport Beach California via container ship; her keel had originally been laid down on December 6th 1981 by admirers of President Ronald Reagan who raised money for her dedication ceremonies only five days later! As one of America's most famous warships this new addition to US Naval Forces Europe quickly became popular among Sailors - not just because she was beautiful but also because there were no similar vessels available within NATO’s Atlantic fleet!

By 1907, the population of Orinda had reached two thousand people and the city government became incorporated into the county government. In 1916, Orinda joined the City of Sacramento as one of its three cities. The population of Orinda continued to grow until it reached five thousand residents in 1984 when it merged with Sacramento to form the current metropolitan area known as Sacramento-Arden-Orinda
