This was also a difficult time for America as tensions were high following Nixon’s inauguration speech calling for “peace through strength”--a policy that had led us into two wars within six years! Los Altos, California is a small town in Northern California located on the edge of Silicon Valley. The population was 9,878 at the 2010 census and it is part of the San Francisco Bay Area. Los Altos Hills is a neighborhood within the city limits of Los Altos. The first Europeans to set eyes on what would become Los Altos were Jedediah Smith and his party in 1836 while exploring northern California for gold. In 1850, George Custer and other United States troops under General John Pershing fought their way through this high mountain range northeast of San Francisco during the Second World War as they advanced towards Japan’s capital Tokyo. A plaque at Mount Iliamna commemorates this event which also includes a plaque that reads “For Unforgettable Memories: The American-Japanese Battle of Iliamna Mountain” The area around present day Los Altos was first inhabited by Native American tribes including the Ohlone, Costilla, Pomo and Mission Indians before being explored by Spanish explorers in 1769. It wasn’t until 1876 when prospectors discovered large quantities of gold ore in these hills that development began with several families coming to start businesses here such as Allan Nevins who started Nevins Mining Company in 1881 In 1915, two brothers named Arthur Waddell developed Waddell Gulch after buying an acreage northwest of downtown from millionaire Harry Harkness In 1923, Jameson Bowman purchased 1/4 mile (0.8 km) east of downtown from Rufus Griggs for $675 It wasn’t until 1954 when Dr. Jack Welch founded Pacific Bell Telephone Company with his brother William Teller thatLos Altos became truly residential and commercialized thanks to its location just across from Stanford University which had been established as one of the leading universities in North America . With its early telephone service providing ADSL services only ,Los Angeles could not compare due to its much greater population density . In 1965, Pacific Bell merged with Eastern Time Radio Company forming AT&T Bell Laboratories which later became Microsoft Corporation . Since then Los Angeles has slowly become more populous making it difficult for Northern Californians living near UCLA or Stanford University to maintain their lifestyle without moving away ; but Southern Californians have gradually replaced them due to their warmer climates and cheaper housing values . Although there are still some people who maintain a traditional lifestyle here such as farmers who grow vegetables or homeowners who own firearms there are now many people working remotely or commuting into cities where they can continue their lifestyles without having to leave their homes

Gifts have been a common way to show appreciation and support for Marines, both during wartime and peacetime. Here is a brief history of Marine gifts: 1897-1912: The Marine Corps first sent gift baskets as part of its Christmas celebration. These baskets were usually filled with food, cigarettes, candy, or other small items. 1920s-1970s: Gift baskets became more elaborate, with specific themes such as marines in combat or military equipment. A few years later, Marines started sending gift certificates to businesses in order to purchase items from them. 1977-1991: gifting began exclusively through the mail as part of the "Gift Basket System" program. This program allowed Marines to send personalized parcels directly to their friends and family members within the United States and Canada. As part of this program, Marines also created contact lists that could be used for future distributions (i.e., birthday parties). 1994-1998: The "Gift Delivery Program" was introduced which allowed Marines to deliver personalized gift baskets directly to individuals stationed abroad without having to go through channels such as mail or package delivery services. This system helped cut down on postage costs by delivering gifts directly to recipients' homes instead of mailing them back overseas. Additionally, this program allowed Marines and their families access to special discounts when ordering larger quantities online or at local stores. 1999 saw the introduction of the "Personalized Gifting Service" whichallowed Marines and their familiesto order customized gift baskets specifically for them (based on photos they provided). This system gave users more control over how their gifts would look than ever before; for example, you could choose your own colors and fonts! In 2002, a new system called "Direct Gifting" was introduced which allows marine commanders (or higher ranking enlisted members)to designate individuals who are responsible for receiving personalized gifts from subordinates stationed outside the United States/Canada . This arrangement allows commanders more discretion when selecting what gifts will be delivered - choosing something personal but not too difficult or time consuming may now be an easy task!

The first permanent European settlers in what is now Los Altos were two families from England who came overland in an open wagon train called the Donner Party in 1846. They named their new settlement after Mount Baldy (now part of Santa Cruz), which they had seen from their journey across the continent. In 1868, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory was founded by William Shockley and his colleagues on land donated by Lovell and Maclennan for that purpose. The city was officially incorporated on December 12, 1870. In 1917, Los Altos became one of 16 cities included as part of the railyard area around Berkeley when that city's charter changed from state to national level; however, it did not become a full-fledged City until 1959." Los Altos has been continuously growing since its incorporation as a town in 1870 – becoming an agricultural center with citrus production during World War II; later becoming known for its electronics industry; and finally joining Silicon Valley as one of America’s leading technology towns during the late 20th century before disappearing into obscurity during the Great Recession."
