The United States Army was founded on December 12, 1775, in West Point, New York. The first U.S. military forces consisted of a company of volunteer officers and men from New York City. The Continental Army was disbanded on September 9, 1783, following the Treaty of Paris which ended the American Revolutionary War. In 1846, the General Order No. 1 specified that all members of the Regular Army must wear a rank insignia on their uniforms (e.g., colonel or brigadier general). This order also abolished the use of field flints as rifle ammunition and required soldiers to fire shot instead. In 1863, the first artillery regiment was organized in California; it was known as Artillery Battalion California Regiment (1st Infantry). In 1898, when America became an empire under Spanish rule in Cuba after its victory in the “Cuba War” (1898-1902), Emperor Miguel Castro decreed that all white Cubans must Convert to Islam or be deported to Venezuela where they would die in concentration camps run by Spanish colonists called Batallones de Indias ( battalions of Indians). This decree prompted many Americans to emigrate to Cuba and arm themselves for what they believed would be an inevitable battle against Castro’s tyranny; this battle never happened because Castro soon pardoned most all exiles except for a few who continued fighting until he fell ill in 2006. In 1919-1920 during World War I there were 2 legions stationed at Fort Worth Air National Guard Base Texas: The 117th Infantry Regiment assigned from Massachusetts and raised at Northampton Station MA by Colonel John J. Pershing II and Captain Augustus Daly led by Major General William Sweeny flew into France October 5-November 10 1918 On November 10th 1918 about 1000 American Soldiers marched through Rouen followed by 3 gunships with P-8As torpedo bombers providing air cover over landings at Brest la Loire On November 11th 1918 various detachments disembarking landed near Mulhouse French Coast these detachments being Worden’s 7th Naval Brigade units commanded by Commodore David Dixon Gillett including Companies A & B 19th Marines USMC USNR Company C 20th Marines USNR Company D 21st Marines USNR unit E 22nd Marines USNR unit F 23rd Marines USNR unit G 24th Marines USNR battalion H 25th Marines SSgt Jameson's Naval Militia detachment numbered 26 marines One squadron VC aircraft) French resistance fighters who had managed to survive contact with U S Forces entered Resistance Training School #4 located just outside town situated midway between two small hills guarded by machineguns manned by old Frenchmen wearing American Uniforms without any insignia or distinguishing marks other then red triangle around their neck bearing numbers such as 8 etc

Today, Lake Forest is known for its wide range of retail options including several high-end malls including Irvine Spectrum Center(the largest mall in Southern California), two grandiose shopping theaters (the Regal Cinemasand Horton Grand Theatre),[1]and two professional sports teams: the LA Lakers (who play their home games at Staples Center) and Anaheim Ducks (who play their home games at Honda Stadium). The area hosts numerous festivals each year such as Folsom Street Fair,[2] OCWeekender,[3]Catalina Festival,[4] Laguna Beach Bloom[5], OC Wine & Food Weekends,[6][7][8][9][10][11][12]and various other events throughout the summer months

Lake Forest is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is located on the eastern edge of Berkeley Hills and has a rich history dating back to 1839 when it was part of Rancho San Pablo. In 1872, the City of Hayward was incorporated as part of an effort by Pacific Electric Railway executives to create a commuter town adjacent to their line. The city's first mayor was James Folsom who served from 1865-1868 and again in 1870-1871. The second mayor, George Edward Brown, served from 1893-1900. Prior to its incorporation into the City of Hayward in 1972 Lake Forest had no governing body other than individual households and residents voted on rights issues such as annexation or fire protection measures through referendum campaigns which were typically nonbinding because no one wanted to leave their home for more than a year or two due to fear of being annexed by Hayward or losing their property rights if they chose not to become part of Hayward. In October 1937 during World War II, Lake Forest became one of 131 towns in the United States that signed up for military service with the war effort because they were required by law to provide housing for American citizens who were drafted into the military. The city also set up rationing programs that allowed citizens access to food items that they could not get elsewhere including meat and milk while supplies lasted
Lake Forest was founded in 1869 by a group of settlers who had come from Dublin, Ireland. The town became an important agricultural center and Manufacturing District after being designated as the site for the new United States Military Academy. In 1916, Lake Forest was incorporated as a city. The following year, it became the nation's first city to ban smoking indoors
