The first coffee beans were grown on the property of Mrs. Wong, who was a U.S. missionary in Taiwan when she learned about coffee culture there. She brought back some of the best bean production equipment from her travels and began to produce high-quality coffee here at her home in Azusa. In the early 1900s, this small town near Los Angeles had only a few hundred residents and most of them were farmers or small ranchers who grew subsistence crops such as potatoes and chickens. Coffee became an important crop due to its origins: rich but mild ground beans that could be roasted quickly without any harsh chemicals or flavors being added, which made it perfect for making morning tea or espresso drinks like Venti Mocha or Latte Artico (two popular styles today). The current incarnation of Azusa's Gourmet Coffee shop began as a simple storefront on Main Street in the late 1990s when two friends decided to open their own business together after spending years working at different local businesses. They named their business "Café de la Esperanza" (meaning "Hope Coffee"). The name came from Mrs. Wong's belief that good coffee should bring hope into people's lives, since she believed that caffeine was one of the great motivators for positive change. Café de la Esperanza soon became known throughout Southern California for its high-quality cup of Joe every time you walked through its door – whether you wanted a sweet start your day with a latte artico, light lunchtime fare with soup and salad plates, or just something to relax before going out – all while enjoying fresh fruit juices and pastries from their ovens right inside the store!

By 1902azusachannel had been built by Southern Pacific Railroad for its San Francisco office workers and other local residents who leased space on main street between First Street and east Mission Street until 1915 when that street was renamed Market Street for Leland Stanford Jr.'s new University campus across the street at Mission Hill

Azusa, California is a small town located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, California. The population was 20,883 at the 2010 census. Azusa is known for its orange orchards and grapes, as well as its Jesuit University. The town was founded in 1887 by Mexican immigrants and became an American settlement in 1914. The first white settler in Azusa was José Gomez, who arrived with his family from Mexico on July 4th, 1887. George Fenton and Jameson Maxwell also settled here that year. In 1890 the first post office opened in Azusa and it remained open until 1912 when it became part of the larger city of Los Angeles. In 1914Azusa became an unincorporated community when it seceded from Los Angeles County to form its own government. The name "Azusa" is thought to come from Spanish "aguas de azúcar" meaning 'oranges of sugar'. The growing industry of oranges led to new housing developments being built throughout the early 21st century including one near downtown Azusa which still stands today. These developments were financed by citrus companies such as United Fruit Company and Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewing Company who saw opportunity in this new industry that was blossoming right outside their doors- creating jobs for people living in these neighbourhoods while also providing infrastructure such as roads, water systems and schools for those within walking distance. The Bishop Museum Complex dedicated to Father Fernando Rivera is located just east of downtownAzusa along State Route 71 which served as a vital artery linking different parts of the town during the late 19th century when transportation links were limited or nonexistent- making this area an important trade hub for both settlers andMexican immigrants looking for work opportunities outside their home country during this time period. Today there are many displays about Father Rivera’s life including a large sculpture inside the complex depicting him leading parish services on Sunday mornings before entering into his religious orders..
