The first coffee beans were roasted in Oro Valley, Arizona in 1907. The town of Oro Valley was founded by the Hidalgo Mining Company in 1881 and it soon became a center for coffee production. In 1914, the United States Coffee Administration (USCA) set up a small roasting plant in Oro Valley to produce quality coffee. The USCA also imported Brazilian coffee from Brazil to roast here. By the early 1920s, most of the land that now makes up the city of Oro Valley had been developed and there weren’t enough resources available to continue crushing and roasting coffee. However, local entrepreneurs began developing new methods for extracting caffeine from bean leaves and other plants. One such company was Donato Coffee & Tea., which opened a small grocery store on Main Street in 1922 and started buying whole beans from farmers around town. In 1927, Donato got its own roastery/cafeteria called Donato Roastery & Cafeteria Incorporated with offices at First Avenue and Main Street. Soon after, other businesses followed suit: grocery stores sold pre-packaged beans while cafeterias served fresh roasted beans all day long! This continued until about 1970 when commercial production stopped because of technological advances thanks to coffeeshops like Starbucks!

Oro Valley is a small town in the Phoenix metropolitan area, located about twelve miles east of the city. A post office has been in operation in Oro Valley since 1865. The population was 2,814 at the 2000 census, making it one of the smaller towns in Phoenix. The first settlers to arrive in Oro Valley were farmers and their families who came from Eastern Arizona during the early 1800s. In 1881, a group of investors founded what would become Copper Canyon Mining Company, and began producing gold and silver ore from nearby hills. By 1886, copper had been discovered on two separate properties near present-day Oro Valley; this led to the company's founding by mining engineers who believed that they could find more gold than ever exist within reach of anyone else. The town of Oro Valley was built around Copper Canyon Mine, which opened in 1887 and produced over 1 million pounds (544 metric tons) of copper per year until it closed in 1916 due to low production rates. Today only a few remnants remain of Copper Canyon Mine: an access road leading up to it is still visible as part of State Route 806 (the now-demolished parallel route SR 806 followed when it ran through present-day Oro Valley). The original residents of Oro Valley were primarily farmers who grew corn and wheat for local consumption or sold their produce at local markets. However, as production at Copper Canyon Mine increased throughout World War I, demand for products became so great that many people started working at the mine itself instead of farming or selling their produce locally. As more miners returned home after war ended and new opportunities arose with new technology such as semi-conductors found down deep inside Copper Canyon Mine, businesses cropped up all over town including several grocery stores/restaurants/bars along US 627 (now Cottonwood Street), which still exists today despite being demolished numerous times over the years; these businesses served as essential elements for life in smalltown America during those days! In 1925–1926 there was an effort made to bring electric power into Oro Valley but this failed due to costs ($5 million) plus unreliable transmission lines between Tucson and Prescott – much like later efforts across Arizona during that time period! With no other choice but to wait until better technology arrived before starting anew with electric lights, business slowly improved once power became available again beginning in 1951; however things couldn’t stay stable long term because electricity prices always escalated quickly due to increasing usage levels by businesses adjacent to power plants! Today there are several small shops scattered around town providing basic groceries such as milk and bread while also offering various services such as photography restoration or landscaping; most people here still rely heavily on agriculture for sustenance though some have ventured into commercial farmland development outside town limits lately! Oro Valley, Arizona is a small town located in the Phoenix metropolitan area. It is famous for its natural gas reserves and as the home of The University of Arizona. Oro Valley was founded in 1912 by ranchers and miners who found oil shale near Byers Creek. The town was named after a nearby mountain, Oroville Peak. In 1933, the United States Post Office moved to Oro Valley from downtown Phoenix. In 1940, the first high school in Oro Valley graduated its students. Today, there are three high schools in Oro Valley- Cherry Hills Elementary School (grades K-8), Jerome High School (9-12), and Roosevelt High School (13-18). The University of Arizona also has a campus in Oro Valley which houses the Department of Geological Sciences and Engineering; it also administers several undergraduate programs including agricultural engineering and environmental science.
The Oro Valley region was first settled in the early 1800s by the Pima and Maricopa Indian tribes. The area was rediscovered in 1859 when an American surveyor discovered a watercourse running through the mountains and notified the local cattle ranchers of his findings. In 1861, two years after Arizona became a U.S. territory, mining began in what is now Oro Valley and nearby sites such as Chinle and Payson. By 1870, there were more than 20 bridges spanning the Verde River between Oro Valley and Chinle to connect the mines with railroads. Mining continued into the 1920s but declined due to competition from other industries; however, it resumed around 1970 after new discoveries were made near Telluride and Escondido. Today, Oro Valley is one of Arizona's most populous regions with over 324,000 residents; it also has a significant agricultural sector which includes growing crops such as grapes, apples, corn, beans, potatoes and cotton.
