Gourmet Coffee History in Lake Havasu City, Arizona When coffee first began to be grown and harvested in what is now known as Lake Havasu City, it was a very different experience. The area was then part of the Mexican territory of New Mexico and there were no recorded references to coffee or any other type of beverage until after the Spanish arrived in 1819. The first European settlers to arrive in what is now known as Lake Havasu City were Mormon missionaries who traveled up the Colorado River system looking for water sources. When they discovered the great potential for coffee growing south of San Francisco, they set about finding a place to grow it. They located a grant from President George Washington in 1799 that allowed them to establish a colony on the site that would eventually become Lake Havasu City. It wasn’t until After Independence when serious interest began to develop inLakeHavasuCityforcoffee production. By 1825, two Dutchmen had established a small farm near present-day downtown Lake Havasu City and started producing coffee beans under the name “De Koffiehuizen” (The Coffee House). In 1827, an American Fur Company trader by the name of William Henry Harrison landed at Anaconda Point on California’s Red Sea Coast and discovered gold Nuggets there so he decided to explore this new development further. He dispatched his geologist friend John Wesley Powell along with several others to map out this new land and find suitable farming areas for crops such as wheat, maize, tomatoes, cotton etc., but all they found was dry land with no water resources available nearby. It was only after years of exploration that Harrison finally brought back word that he had stumbled upon large amounts of natural oil shale near present-day Pipe Spring National Monument – an important discovery because it led him to begin developing Apache Wells which are today one of America’s most productive oil shale operations! However, even Gilded Age America couldn’t keep pace with world events such as technology advancing which made bean production much more efficient than ever before; soon thereafter De Koffiehuizen ceased operations and merged with another local business called “The Merchants Coffee House” which continued trading until 1860 when it burned down due to lack of insurance funding! However, despite its early demise, The Merchants Coffee House still stands today as one of downtown Lake Havasu City’s earliest landmarks! Thereaftergouppedroducecoffeeproductionintheareauntil1875whena man by the nameof Denton Hatton founded “The Egyptian Café” on Second Street just east of Main Street; this establishment became internationally famous for its gourmet coffee products which drew customers from all over Northern India and parts thereof! Unfortunately during Prohibition – aka The Great Depression – Denton Hatton lost his business acumen so instead he moved his operations underground where he operated what is now known as “Mountain Top Coffee & Donuts Inc." From hereon out Gourmet Coffee Production resumed vigorously within our beloved city Limits!!! Today Mountain Top Coffee & Donuts provides delicious cupcakes daily right outside your front door!!!!!

Lake Havasu City is a city in Pima County, Arizona, United States. The population was 17,848 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tucson metropolitan area. Lake Havasu City is located on the eastern edge of Phoenix and borders Tempe to the north, Maricopa County to the east, and Pinal County to the south. The climate in this area is characterized by hot summers and mild winters; however, it can get cold in winter. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Lake Havasu City has a humid subtropical climate (Cfa). The name "Havasu" comes from Apache Chief Cochise's account of seeing a great big body of water called "Havasu" floating downriver from Mt. Davenport on its way to join the Colorado River. When Europeans first visited this region in 1867 they thought it was a deep well because there were no other places like that around hereabouts. They named it after General Tomahawk's chief friend and ally - Havasupai Nation leader Antonio López de Santa Anna y Costilla - who had accompanied General Kearny during his Mexican Expedition into Arizona during 1846-47." This story also states that when General Kearny discovered that Cochise was planning an attack against him near Prescott he ordered him to stop but Cochise decided instead to cross over into Mexico and offer resistance against English troops invading California at that time which continued until 1849 when he surrendering at Benicia Barracks." In 1886 local rancher John Wexler established what became known as Wexler Dam across from present day Lake Havasu City limits on what are now United States Route 66 between Pima Creek and Yuma Creek Rivers resulting in development around both lakes beginning with a sawmill being built by Heman Green about 1890 followed by other industrial ventures including automobiles making their debut at this location in 1903 before moving downstream for storage on US Highway 86 through much of today's downtown prior to opening up for business as Arizonan Motors Incorporated circa 1915 just beyond current day First National Bank plaza

The first coffees were made from a variety of plants, but the most popular type today is Arabica beans. The earliest known roasted coffee was found at Abydos in Upper Egypt about 2700 BC. The Egyptians had knowledge of how to roast beans and used them as part of their religious ceremonies. For several thousand years, Arabs traders passed through Lower Egypt carrying goods such as coffee and spices that they brought back with them to Saudi Arabia and other parts of the Middle East. In 1553, Ottoman Turks discovered Java's high-quality coffee trees while on their way to conquer India. They set up a plantation there and began to produce richly-colored coffee beans that became known throughout Europe for its quality. Over time, more people pointed out this superior bean because it was so difficult to find elsewhere in the world. In 18th century Europe, some people started calling Java "the best place for coffee." By 1800, Englishmen had learned about Java's superb cup of coffee and beganimporting it into England for sale as tea (tea being then an expensive luxury). Dutch traders also started importing significant amounts ofJava's beans in order to supply their own mills with raw materials needed for brewing tea and other beverages. By 1830, Java was so well known around the world that special British stamps were issued recognizing Indonesia’s distinction as “the land where fine old Dutch Coffee came from” (The Jakarta Post 10/1/2006).

The Arabs brought thisbeans over to Europe in the 8th century AD and started to make coffee there. Coffee beans were grown on estates near Damascus in Syria up until the 15th century. Arabic traders brought coffee back to Persia in the 16th century and then India in the 17th century. Coffee became popularized in Europe during the 18th century thanks to Frenchmen who traveled there and tasted different types of coffee. They introduced new methods of roasting, brewing, and marketing which led to a huge increase in demand for coffee throughout most of Europe. Coffee production spread into North America after British colonists discovered it while exploring India in 1802. In 1837, Dutch settlers arrived on Long Island and began growing beans at an early stage; however, theircoffee didn’t achieve wide popularity until after American revolutionaries took control of New York City from Great Britain during the Revolution (1775-1783). During this time, coffeehouses became popular gathering spots for city dwellers as well as officers of government who needed caffeine before engaging in important meetings or negotiations. In 1875, Amsterdam’s tallest building was completed with its own café – De Valk (The Eagle) – which quickly become known as one of Amsterdam’s most desirable locations for food and drink purposes.
