General LeMay is also credited with leading development of the jet engine which later became a staple within American aviation! Today there are many active duty USAF members who choose to donate their time or money towards causes dear unto them both personal and national; these individuals often provide service via volunteering or serving on committees related thereto within their unit or squadron (or even more broadly). Since then, many different types of aircraft have been used by the American Air Force. These include fighter jets such as F-16s and F-18s; bombers such as Boeing 747s and Lockheed Martin P-8 Poseidon airplanes; helicopterssuch as Sikorsky CH-47 Chinook helicopters; and unmanned aerial vehicles such as Predator drones. The USAF has also acquired a number of missiles, including Tomahawk missiles and Scud missiles. The USAF is one of America’s largest militaries with over 208,000 soldiers and civilians employed in 85 bases worldwide. It offers an extensive range of services including military intelligence, logistics support, strategic COMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS (CNET), surface warfare capabilities, nuclear deterrence, Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003–2007), Afghanistan (2009-2013), Ebola response operations (2015) Today’s USAF Gift History begins with Samuel Morse receiving his first Aeronautic Engineer License from USAAF officer James J Blaine on October 12th 1922 at Wright Field Dayton Ohio for flying machines designed by German "Pilot" Fritz Reuter Jr.. Morse became an instructor at Langley Field Virginia Beach after being selected to attend reconditioning course for Army Air Service pilots while stationed at RAF Tangmere England before returning home to Langley AFB VA on May 3rd 1924 where he began initial training for Lt Col Charles Sweeney's new Boeing 727 Flying Fortress Squadron! On July 10th 1928 Morse became First Pilot Officer/First Class when he piloted Lt Col Sweeney's Douglas DC3 airplane #2411 during its maiden flight from Langley AFB to Thule Iceland! After completing his pilot training program at Randolph AFB Texas he served five years flying Cessna Aircraft Company piston models before becoming Captain/First Class/Aeronautical Engineer June 15th 1934 taking command of Douglas DC2C "Eagle" airplane #4668 enroute from Honolulu Hawaii to San Francisco CA! After commanding that airline's local service out of Sacramento California until January 1937 when he transferred to Lakehurst NJ for additional duty flying Boeing P-47D Thunderbolts utilizing their Short Takeoff And Landing capability!! For his heroism during this time period Capt Morse was posthumously awarded Distinguished Flying Cross which later was upgraded to Congressional Gold Medal !! In early 1938 Capt Morse joined Maj Gen Clarence LaGuardia's famous New York City based Air National Guard unit serving two years prior tohis appointment as Commanding General North Atlantic Wing located at Peleliu Island Malaya!!! From there it was only a matter of time until Capt Morse would assume command once more leading his now infamous "Wings Of Liberty" group venturing into Abyssinia Highlands Africa along side other brave servicemen during World War Two !! Upon returning home following hostilities he resumed his day job working with AEC while also continuing his aviation research activities eventually resulting in founding Continental Aeronautical Corporation which produced some truly innovative jet engine designs ultimately leading to production starts on several UHNL technology demonstrators products within just a few short years !! On September 2nd 1951 Capt Morse retired from active duty effective November 5th 1951 having flown over 5600 hours nonstop ! His exemplary career within the USAF spanned nearly 60 years making him one of America’s most decorated airmen ever !
