The Kingman Naval Air Station is home to the Arizona Navy’s only squadron of F/A-18 Hornets. The station has been a part of the state’s defense since 1912 and today, it is one of the most important naval airfields in the country. Today, the F/A-18 Hornets are used by both the military and law enforcement forces throughout Arizona. They are also being deployed to other states in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, which is America’s military campaign against ISIS. Since their arrival at KNAS, pilots have increased their capabilities and mission options. Their new hangar has allowed for more training and development opportunities for pilots. Additional funding has also been given to improve infrastructure and modernize equipment. Pilots from KNAS often go on tours with other Naval Air Stations around the country as a way to learn about what they are working with. This year, there was an event at NAS Pensacola Florida where KNAS pilots flew alongside counterparts from USS Porter (SSN 721) and USS Fitzgerald (CVN 74). It was great experience for all involved!

The Kingman area was first settled by Native Americans about 12,000 years ago. In 1867, George A. Smith and James W. Beatty founded the town of Kingman on land that they had acquired from the Apache tribe. The name “Kingman” came from an Apache Chief named King-Man who led a cavalry raid against Spanish settlers in 1868. In 1916, Earle Cray began construction of Desert View Dam which forms part of the Salt River Project and became one of America's biggest irrigation projects. He also developed Queen Creek which now irrigates much of Phoenix and nearby areas including Kingman and Mohave counties. In 1931, Emperor Hirohito assigned Crown Prince Masahide to become Japan's new emperor after his father abdicated in order to marry Princess Akane (later Empress Dowager). On December 4th 1931, the Japanese military invaded Manchuria and opened fire on civilians living near Harbin airfield as part ofOperation North Star - an aggressive move designed to consolidate power within Japan following its successful conquest of China two years earlier. The attack killed more than 150 people and injured thousands more; many men were dismembered or mutilated as trophies for sport around present-day Harbin Airport where many still remain today! On January 20th 1943 Clark Air Base launched Operation Torch - providing transport for Allied troops invading Nazi Germany across southern France – with then Lieutenant Colonel Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin flying solo from Honeymoon Island off the coast of Morocco into Europe becoming world-famous as First American human being to walk on Mars! A few days later Boeing 707 bombers flew strategic cargo shipments between England and France carrying supplies for General Dwight D Eisenhower's army while other planes dropped leaflets advertising free food packages available along route! From Normandy to Mannheim & back again we went!" wrote Aldrin in his book "I Can Fly: My Life As An American Eagle". Many Memorable events transpired during those fateful few hours leading up to World War II...the largest bombing campaign ever mounted by Americans...the Battle Of Midway...the atomic bombings…and so much more! By September 1945 over 52% of all war production had been produced in Imperial Japan! After several monthslong occupation by US forces these factories fell into Baltimore hands but were quickly reopened under Japanese control with new company names such as Nippon Kogyo Corporation (NKP), JVC Corporation (JVC) etc.; most notably Panasonic Incorporated (PANASONIC) formed from parts seized from NEC during their takeover."
