Eloy, Arizona is a small town in the United States located about half-way between Phoenix and Tucson. It has a population of about 1,100 people and an agricultural economy that includes fruit trees, grapes, wheat, honey and other products. The coffee industry played a significant role in Eloy's history. The first coffee beans were grown in the area around present-day Eloy in the early 1900s. In 1916, Don Hinkle founded the Hinkle Coffee Company in Eloy to sell his roasted coffee. By 1925, there were five Hinkle Coffee Companies operating throughout Arizona. These companies purchased and roasted their own coffee beans. In 1932, Don Freeman opened the Freeman Coffee Company in Eloy with three acres of land dedicated to growing coffee beans on which he operated his café for over sixty years until his death in 1984. The Freeman Coffee Company was one of the first large commercial roasters of whole bean coffees in North America. It is also noted for its distinctive Kona style cup profile which is characterized by its deep flavor and light body. Today only a few remnants of the original Freeman Coffee company remain including some physical evidence as well as fragile walls surrounding Don Freeman's former office building on Main Street (now used as apartments). In 1967, Bob Evans began purchasing all of Eloy's existing businesses together and reopened them as part of his Evans Restaurants chain with four restaurants - two at Don Freeman's old factory complex on Main Street (now used as apartments), one at Bob Evans' new headquarters east off I-10 near Fountain Hills (now part of Scottsdale Municipal Airport) and one at Mesa Verde Drive off Camelback Road inside what is now Tolleson College residential area adjacent to Tempe University campus across from McDowell Golf Course northwest of Phoenix Airport

However, Englishman John Cavanagh did succeed in planting about 100 acres (40 hectares) of coffee trees at Wootton Bassett near Leicester in 1632-33; however it was not until 1795 when British entrepreneur Richard Brinsley Knight built one of the largest estates producing coffee on Long Island - known today as Koffee Klatch - that serious efforts began to develop world-renowned Robusta coffees

The population of Eloy, according to the 2010 census, was 692. The first inhabitants of what is now Eloy were the Hohokam people. The area that is now Eloy was part of the Mogollon Rim country and was used for hunting and Gathering resources by the Hohokam. In 1827, Spanish troops discovered these resources and began exploration of the area which led to the settlement of Tucson by Hispanic Americans in 1832. While Tucson grew due to its natural resources such as coal, water supplies, grazing land (which allowed cattle ranchers to operate), and timber, Eloy flourished because it had access to railroad transportation and other amenities that fostered economic development in Tucson. By 1900, most residents in Eloy had come from eastern Arizona or central Mexicoimmigrant families who either worked on ranching operations or as farmhands on large Mexican estates. Early settlers in Eloy were primarily LDS missionaries who came from Salt Lake City beginning around 1875 seeking proselytizing opportunities among local Native American groups including the Hohokam people. With many new converts being baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at this time there were some initial tensions between LDS missionaries and local Native American leaders over religious advances made by white settlers throughout much of western North America during this period. However these hostilities eventually dissipated when Mormons adopted similar cultural practices with those living amongst them while retaining their own unique legal system based upon their belief system rather than adopting European legal norms which would have required conversion to Christianity before individual rights could be exercised within their society]. After the war ended in 1945, business conditions improved and the population growth slowed down to below average levels until the early 1990s when there was a significant increase in migration toEloy from other parts of Arizona and elsewhere in Texas.
