The Arizona National Guard was activated on November 16, 1912. The unit was organized as a regiment of the Regular Army and served as part of the Arizona Territorial Militia. On February 14, 1916, the regiment became an infantry battalion and was redesignated the 117th Infantry Regiment on October 1, 1916. The 117th Infantry Regiment was mustered in for service with World War I on December 11, 1916. The regiment served in France from January to April 1917 and then returned toArizona until September 1918. On October 10, 1918 the regiment was redesignated once again as the 117th Infantry Regiment and fought in Belgium during World War I's Battle of Belleau Wood. After Armistice were signed by both sides on November 11, 1918, the regiment demobilized on December 15, 1918. After World War I ended there were several attempts at re-establishing units of the Arizona National Guard; these efforts never reached fruition because of various reasons including lack of resources or political instability within Arizona Territory itself. In 1924 however a new organization called the Territorial Guards Division was created which consisted entirely of volunteer militia members from Chino Valley who had been mobilized for war bonds purposes only one year earlier. This organization continued to exist until sometime after World War II when it too folded due to lack of funding/support from either state government or individual members/volunteers alike. In 1946 however another group called Chino Valley Citizens Defense League formed out of necessity following a burglary at a local grocery store that left four people injured. This group soon grew into something more formal with its own officers and began stockpiling weapons in anticipation of any future attacks against their community by criminals or other outside entities (this event is often referred to as "the first national guard activation"). In 1951 an act called Republic Act No 103-17 created a Constabulary Department within Chino Valley National Guard Headquarters which later became known as Central Phoenix Police Department; this department remains operational unto this day albeit under different name(s). Chino Valley also experienced some significant changes during this time period; most notably becoming home to what is now known as Eastern Phoenix Municipal Airport which opened its doors in 1940 making it one of the first airport concessions given to a city in Arizona Territory (it would later become Phoenix International Airport). Additionally other important development happened such as construction on what is now known as Pinnacle Hills Drive near present day Chandler Boulevard - this project led to increased traffic congestion around town which eventually lead to protests from citizens against excessive roadbuilding projects throughout much OF Arizonan territory at that time! This particular incident comes down quite literally between two communities - residents inChinoValley objectioned plans for what are now considered major highway arteries while residents eastofChinoville supported these same projects vigorously! Ultimately neither community received what they wanted but they did manageto create some pretty heated arguments along the way!

There are several hot springs in Chino Valley, including Chino Wells and Chino Creek. In 1892, William H. Reeder founded the Reeder General Store here in what is now Chino Valley. The store became known as the "Reeder Store of Phoenix." In 1912, Harry Chandler built his home here and started to grow grapes for wine production. His vineyard still produces wine today. In 1951, Bob Hope moved to Chino Valley and began producing movies here with his son Harry Hope Jr..

Chino Valley, Arizona is a small town located in Phoenix County, Arizona. The valley was named after the Mexican Chino or Chinaman who worked in the area during the late 1800s. The name comes from Spanish meaning "place of oranges." The valley was originally populated by Native Americans, but most of the population moved to Phoenix and Tucson in the early 1900s. Today, Chino Valley is home to a few thousand people and features a variety of businesses and restaurants. The first humans to live in Chino Valley were the Pima Indians. They began living in the valley around 1820-1825. By 1830, they had settled down permanently and started trading with Mexicans and other tribes along the Arizonian border. In 1836, Mormon missionaries came through Chino Valley and started preaching Christianity to the Indian tribe called the Hualapai. soon after, many other groups also arrived in Chino Valley including Anglo-Americans (non-Native American) traders and miners looking for coal and silver deposits. In 1881, John Wesley Powell became one of America's first professional explorers when he traveled through Arizona on his way to explore Forks ofthe Colorado River. He explored part of what is now Chino Valley while traveling downriver from Prescott via Apache Pass on February 14th, 1882. At this point it was still considered an unsettled region due to tribal rivalry over land claims between various groups such as Navajos and Apaches . On July 10th, 1886 USGS Surveyor Alfred Vail mapped out much of present day Phoenix County when he surveyed part of what would become Chino Valley northwest of Anaconda Dam downstream from Greenlee Lake on Canopy Mesa about 25 miles south west of modern Scottsdale
