The United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland is home to the U.S. Naval Reserve and U.S. Coast Guard academies as well as the U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Marines. The USN has been providing naval gift history since 1835, when Commodore John Cincinatti founded the American Institution of Marine Engineers in Newport, Rhode Island with the intent of promoting maritime engineering skills for future American sailors and marines. Commodore Cincinatti also provided a model for what later became the Naval Academy's "Blue-Blazers" mascot - a costumed sailor representing prudence, seamanship, and hard workmanship on board ship or at sea (the blue suit being symbolic of both navyeness and merchant marine experience). The first Commandant of cadets at Annapolis was Commodore John Dickey who served from 1841-1845; Rear Admiral Charles Eliot Thayer from 1846-1851; Rear Admiral Amos Kendall from 1852-1855; Rear Admiral James Fenton Woolridge from 1856-1861; Rear Admiral Gideon Welles from 1862-1865; Commodore Cornelius Greenway Moorehead from 1865-1867; Commodore David Dixon Porter from 1868 until his death in 1870; Commodore Charles Francis Pownall Frome during his term as Commandant that lasted until July 1st 1870 when he resigned due to health reasons In 1833, Congress passed an act entitled "An Act To provide For The Education And Training Of Officers In The Navy" which directed Secretary of War James Kintyre to establish schools within six months for instruction in naval science and tactics without regard to race or color On February 26th 1830 Samuel Eliot Morison published an article entitled "The History Of The United States Naval Academy" which detailed how students were taught accounting, mathematics, navigation and engineering principles In 1800 Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote an essay upon visiting Annapolis entitled "A Visit To The United States Military Academy At Annapolis". The Buckeye Naval Air Station (BNAS) was first established in World War I and operated as a naval air station until the end of the war. It then became a naval air depot during World War II, serving as both an aircraft carrier area and a submarine base. The BNAS was reactivated in 1951 as a Naval Air Station Tucson (NAS Tucson). NAS Tucson served as both an operational and research center for the Navy's aircraft and missile programs. In 1969, NAS Tucson was renamed NAS Buckeye after Rear Admiral John W. Buckeye, Commandant, U.S. Navy Reserve Fleet Air Forces Pacific Region who had been instrumental in its creation. During the early 1970s, NAS Buckeye played an important role in providing fighter cover for Carrier Strike groups during Operation Sea Shield III off of South Vietnam which helped protect United States interests there. After being decommissioned in 1992 it was used as a landfill before being closed down completely by 2006.

The navy has a long and proud history of gift giving. From the early days of sailing ships to today’s Naval Aviation, the navy has given countless gifts to others. Some of these include beautiful boats, Aircraft, torpedoes and more. Here is a look at some of the most famous navy gift history moments: 1) The first naval ship, HMS Bounty was gifted to the British Navy in 1797 by Captain James Cook. This vessel had been lost at sea and was eventually found by seamen onshore in 1798. Cook took possession of the ship and gave it to the British Navy for use as their flagship. 2) In 1938, Admiral Ernest Jellicoe presented HMS Queen Elizabeth with a set of silver service pistols as a symbol of Britain’s maritime superiority over Germany during World War II. These pistols would later be used in battle against Nazi Germany. 3) In 1941, Admiral Lord Cranborne presented HMS Hood with a set of gold service pistols as part of his Gift To The Nation program. These guns were later used during Operation Overlord when Hitler's forces invaded England. 4) In 1948, HMS Endeavour was gifted to Australia by King George VI in recognition of Australia's contribution to World War II efforts. This ship would later serve as an auxiliary vessel for the Royal Australian Navy and carry out many humanitarian missions throughout Asia and Europe during the war years.

Buckeye is a small town in Pima County, Arizona. The population was 1,541 at the 2010 census. It's located in the Tucson metropolitan area and is part of the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale, AZ Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Buckeye were members of the Spanish conquistadors who arrived in 1540. Jesuit missionaries also visited Buckeye around 1610. In 1866, General John T. Sherman's army passed through Pima County on their march from Tucson to Prescott and discovered a Paiute Indian village called Sipiwepiwekuh (meaning "oasis"). Tecumseh Treaty of 1855 assigned land east of Buckeye to white settlers while reserving the remainder for Native Americans. A post office was established at Buckeye in 1861, but it was closed in 1870 because of lack of mail service between Tucson and Buckeye. The first store opened at Buckeye in 1872 by J.W. Sears with $1 per month in rent money he had saved from working as a checker at the Arizona National Bank across the street from his house on Seventh Street NW. Because no one wanted to live near an American military installation, some residents built their homes on high ground overlooking trading posts where they could watch Army supply trains enter and leave Camp Robinson without being stopped or boarded by soldiers; these homes remain today as part of Heritage Park off Seventh Street NW., just north of downtown Tucson In 1893, many farmers turned away from growing crops for reasons such as lack of water or pests; however, within five years most farmers had returned to growing corn and wheat because they found that these plants grew better when grown close together than elsewhere around the country. By 1912 there were 9 businesses open inside and outside town limits: 3 grocery stores (J&R’s Store #2 & 3), 2 hardware stores ( Hardware Shoppe #1 & 2), 1 blacksmith shop (Blacksmith Shop #3), 2 tailors shops (Tailor Shop #4 & 5), 6 druggists (Druggist Warehouse #1 & 2) – all ran by men – 4 shoe stores (Shoe Store #6 & 7), 1 barber shop (Barber Shop#8) In 1915 local citizens organized what became known as "The Citizens' Committee" to help improve school conditions including raising money for new classrooms, fencing off commercial areas south of Ninth Street NW., improving drainage systems etc.; this committee did much to improve infrastructure throughout town including building sidewalks/ driveways/patios etc.. After World War I ended there was significant growth due both to returning servicemen and refugees - many people moved into town after being discharged from duty if they could find work anywhere else It wasn't until early 1960s that bus service started up between Tucson proper and Buckeye which then continued until 1988 when it was discontinued due primarily to budget cuts several years later followed by increased traffic congestion caused by Interstate 10 construction which disrupted travel patterns throughout northwestern Arizona
The first white European to explore the area now known as Arizona was Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon in 1513. The area was part of Mexican territory until 1821, when it became a U.S. territory following the Mexican-American War. In 1863, the Union Pacific Railroad reached Tucson and began construction of its line from Phoenix to Tucson, eventually reaching Buckeye in 1865.
